Have you ever eaten corn flour butter cake "Amor Polenta"? Italian sweets with a pleasant texture

An Italian fair held at the chocolate maker Lloyds in Hokkaido. We have a lineup of limited-time products inspired by Italian sweets and ingredients. I tried the product "Amor Polenta" that I was interested in!

◆ What kind of sweets?

A traditional Italian butter cake made from corn flour arranged in a Lloyd's style. In Italian, amor is "love" and polenta is a northern Italian dish made by kneading corn flour in hot water. Amor polenta means "loved polenta".

Butter, white chocolate, vanilla and cognac are used for the dough. Corn grits (dried corn husks and crushed endosperm with germ removed) are added and sprinkled on the outside. The price is 994 yen (tax included).

The yellow cake reminiscent of corn has a moist mouthfeel. It's similar to pound cake, but I sometimes feel the presence of gritty corn grits. The unique texture is interesting.

The taste is weaker than Corn's claim. Instead, the main sweetness is the rich sweetness of white chocolate and vanilla. It contains about 1.5% alcohol, but I don't think it feels like alcohol. The fluffy butter leaves a happy finish.

The cakes that have been loved in Northern Italy are simple and tasty, and even though I first met them, I feel nostalgic. I once again felt that "delicious" has no borders.
