The "Yokohama Mooncake Orange" is served chilled! Refreshing orange and mint liqueur flavor

I tried the "Yokohama Mooncake Orange" from Sakiyoken. Eaten chilled, it has a refreshing orange and mint flavor. The selling price is 160 yen per piece (tax included).

Sakiyoken Yokohama Mooncake Orange

A refreshing dish of sweet and sour jelly made from Mandarin and Valencia oranges wrapped in orange paste accented with a slight bitterness from the orange peel. The jelly's texture, acidity, and the secret flavor of mint liqueur are accentuated by chilling it. The calorie count is 150 kcal.

The mooncake looks small enough to pop into your mouth, but it is so filling that you will be satisfied even if you cut it in half or quarter with a knife and enjoy it little by little.

When you bite into a mooncake, the intense citrus flavor will leave a lasting impression on your nose. The concentrated aroma is reminiscent of jam or liqueur rather than fresh fruit. The sweet bean paste has a firm, moist texture, but the aftertaste is refreshing. The jelly inside has a nice sourness and freshness.

When chilled in the freezer for about 10 minutes, the outer dough becomes more moist, while the bean paste and jelly inside become more fragrant and slightly firm, giving it a pleasant texture. Above all, the cool texture makes it a delightful teacake on days when the lingering summer heat continues. In an air-conditioned room, you can enjoy it with hot oolong tea or Japanese tea.
