We would like to introduce a piccata-style recipe using koya-tofu (dried tofu). Piccata is an Italian dish. In Japan, pork piccata is a well-known dish in which pork is sauteed with an egg mixed with flour and cheese powder. This time, koya-tofu (dried tofu) is used instead of pork.

Directions
Soak dried tofu in water, squeeze out water and drain.
Cut koya-tofu in half. Season with salt and pepper and dust with flour.
In a bowl, beat eggs and mix in cheese powder. Dredge the floured koya-tofu in the mixture and place in a pan with a little more oil (not included).
Deep fry on both sides over medium heat to complete the dish! Transfer to a plate and serve with ketchup if desired.
How does it taste?
Delicious! The batter is crispy and the inside is fluffy like a chicken nugget, but the more you bite into it, the richer and mellower the soybean flavor becomes. It really is like meat, so it is very satisfying. Even with tofu, you don't feel like you're missing out at all!
It is recommended not only as a side dish, but also as a snack with beer. It is easy to eat, so children will enjoy it too!
