French Toast with
Dry Bread
French toast is more proper French toast than expected! However, if the egg mixture is not soaked into the center of the toast, the toast will still be a little leaky.
I need to soak it in a little more.
The degree of soaking depends on the type and size of dry bread you use, but if possible, soak it for half a day or overnight. If you cut it and make cross sections, it will soak in more easily. Personally, I recommend using a little more milk than most French toast recipes, and soaking the bread until it is soft and crumbly.
This is properly soaked! Yum!
The trick is to soak the
dry bread thoroughly in the egg mixture and keep it moist throughout. If you can get past that, you will have delicious French toast. Please give it a try!
