Sukiya stores will start selling "Umidashi Torisoborodon", a renewed version of the standard "Torisoborodon", at 9:00 a.m. on August 1, 2012.

The "Umodashi Torisoboro-don" is a renewed version of the "Torisoboro-don" with an increased amount of torisoboro (minced chicken). The new Tori Soboro-don features the natural sweetness of vegetables and the flavor of seafood broth. The chicken is stir-fried with Chinese cabbage and leeks, then simmered in bonito, mackerel, and dried sardine broth to create a flavor with the sweetness of vegetables and the gentle umami of the broth.

The small cubes of ginger add a refreshing aftertaste and accentuate the texture of the dish, along with the moderately sour shibazuke pickles. The optional egg can be broken down to your liking to enjoy the change to a mellower flavor.

Prices are as follows: rice mini for 450 yen, rice medium for 480 yen, rice large for 510 yen, and rice extra large for 760 yen (all prices include tax).
