Natsukashi no Strawberry Hot Cake" will be available from Fujiya. It will be available at all Fujiya confectionery stores nationwide from May 22 to 31. The selling price is 648 yen (tax included).

Nyatsukashi no Strawberry Hot Cake

This is one of the "12 Stories of Shortcake" series that started in January 2022 as part of the 100th anniversary project of the launch of Fujiya's shortcake. In this series, a short story describing memories related to shortcake by various people is published each month, and a cake inspired by the story is sold for a limited time starting on the 22nd of each month.

The theme for May is the memories of singer and TV personality Shoko Nakagawa. The pancake-like sponge is covered with homemade custard cream, with honey maple sauce on the top, and decorated with a light type of custard cream, chanterelle cream, and strawberries. It is said to be a nostalgic and warming dish, reminiscent of the pancakes served at Fujiya restaurants.

In addition, two types of paper plates featuring cats, newly drawn by Nakagawa, a cat lover, will be available. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Neko Republic, a cat protection organization that operates cat cafes with the goal of eliminating the killing of cats.
