12 Stories of Shortcake "Enjoying Shortcake with Tea" by the tea master's carefully selected 10-step tea ceremony.

The "12 Stories of Shortcake," a project to mark the 100th anniversary of the launch of Shortcake, started in January 2022. Each month, we focus on a different main character and publish a short story that describes a memory related to shortcake. For a limited time starting on the 22nd of each month, a special shortcake inspired by the story is released.

The protagonist of this month's story is Kenta Ikeda, a tea master Judan. Born in a family that ran a tea shop, his parents' home was always filled with the fragrant smell of tea leaves. One of his great pleasures as a child was the cakes he would eat with his family on his birthday. He would try to make the sencha tea to go with the sweet cream. Please enjoy the story of Mr. Ikeda, who has continued to hone his skills since childhood, and the somewhat unexpected marriage of tea and cake.
