The "12 Stories of Shortcake "Marugoto Kumamoto Happy Short"" will be available at the Fujiya confectionery store for 10 days from March 22 to March 31. The price is 550 yen (tax included).

The "12 Stories of Shortcake" started in January 2022 as a project to mark the 100th anniversary of the launch of Shortcake. Each month, we focus on a different main character and publish a short story that describes a memory related to shortcake. For a limited time only, a special shortcake inspired by the story is available from the 22nd of each month.

The protagonists of this month's stories are the third-year students of the pastry course at Keisei High School in Kumamoto Prefecture, who won the "Peko-chan Prize" at the Sweets Koshien, a competition to determine the No. 1 high school pastry chef. The girls, who are strong in their passion and will spare no effort to help others, worked together with Fujiya to come up with this shortcake.

The sponge is softly baked using flour from Kumamoto Prefecture and sandwiched with Kumamoto's Shiranui (white rice). The top is filled with chanterelle cream and topped with Yubeni strawberries produced in Kumamoto Prefecture. As with the launch of Fujiya's shortcake, the cream and strawberries are made to look like "100" when viewed from above, in honor of Keisei High School, which celebrated its 100th anniversary.


This local support shortcake is filled with ideas to make the most of Kumamoto Prefecture's ingredients. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the product will be donated to Kumamoto Prefecture for the July 2020 torrential rain disaster.

The standard tax rate (10%) is applied to food and beverages at the eat-in space of Fujiya confectionery stores and Fujiya restaurants, and the prices differ from the listed prices including tax.
