I found Iburi-gakko, the main store of Ito pickles, at an antenna shop in Tokyo. I didn't miss it because I like Iburi-gakko, so I actually bought it and tried it. The price is 465 yen (excluding tax).
"Iburigakko" is a dry stick that allows you to easily enjoy "Iburigakko" anytime, anywhere as a snack. It is crispy fried using rice from Akita prefecture and pickled Iburi-gakko from Ito pickles Honpo.
It looks like squid somen. Because it is individually wrapped, it is a nice point that it is easy to eat at once. At first, it has a savory texture, but the more you chew it, the more it gradually becomes a pickle-like chewy texture. At the same time, the unique scent and umami of Iburi-gakko gradually exudes. The smoky scent that intensifies fluffy is irresistible!
Because of its unique texture, you may like it or not, but if you like the taste of Iburi-gakko, you will love it. The staff of the En-eating editorial department was also addicted to saying, "You can eat as much as you want with a snack of sake!"
In addition, since the flavor of Iburi-gakko remains strong even after swallowing, it is recommended that the sake to be combined has a strong aroma (matches the flavor of Iburi-gakko) and a carbonated sake that refreshes the mouth.
The more you chew, the more delicious "Iburigakki". It's about 500 yen per box, which is a little expensive to eat on a daily basis, but it may be a good souvenir or occasional fun. If you like Iburi-gakko, why not check it out?
