"Men-dokoro Jimon" is about a 5-minute walk from JR Koenji Station. I heard rumors that the "Katsuura-style Tantanmen" offered here is a horse, so I actually tried it.

I went there around noon on weekdays. There were only counter seats in the store, and a few customers were already slurping noodles. Purchase a ticket at the ticket machine placed at the entrance. "Katsuura-style Tantanmen" is 800 yen (tax included) per cup.


When you hand over the ticket to the kind-looking clerk, you will be asked what to do with the level of spiciness. When I checked the table in front of me, it seems that it is divided into 7 stages. The restaurant's recommended "2 spicy" spiciness is "Hmm, it's rather spicy, but ... If you don't mind spicy food, it's delicious!" I also ordered "2 spicy".


Water, rangers and cups are self-service. It is prepared with a comic book at the back of the long and narrow store, so go get as much as you need. There was a poster prohibiting shoplifting on the shelf of the manga, but if you really want to shoplift, please make it "Tetsuya-The Legend of the Gambler-"! I will not forgive you. " Why is "Tetsuya" allowed?

The tantanmen that came out after waiting for 5 or 6 minutes are bright red ! Plenty of garlic is put on it. What should I do ... I wonder if I can eat this ...



Take the courage and take a sip of soup. The fragrance and richness of spices spread softly, followed by the spicy spiciness of Hua Jiao. Certainly spicy. However, it is not just a stimulus, but a strangely addictive one . Such a "horse spicy" soup that makes you sip the next bite even though your mouth is squeezed.


Besides garlic, there are plenty of cut onions, goro and juicy minced meat. The soup is often entwined with the noodles, which are easy to inhale. It's amazing, the more you eat, the more Katsuura-style tantanmen permeates your body. The impression is that once a month, you will want to eat it asexually. This is highly addictive.



There were many regulars in the store, and everyone enjoyed having a large serving of garlic chives and adding monthly toppings (the month I visited the store was coriander). I definitely want to try cheese toppings the next time I come. The mellowness will be added and it will be even more delicious.
