Oisix, a food delivery service, collaborates with the manga "Space Brothers", which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in December this year (2017). "Space Brothers x Kit Oisix", which makes it easy to make "manga rice", is on sale for a limited time from September 21st to October 5th.

This is a meal kit that allows you to easily reproduce the menu that appears in the work of "Space Brothers". The main dish "Space Brothers Meshi! Tsukimi Stewed Hamburger" and the side dish "Kenji's Dining Room Green Salad" are included in the set. The price is 1,640 yen for 2 people and 2,260 yen for 3 people.


By the way, the cardboard boxes to which the meal kits are delivered also have a special "Space Brothers" design. The excitement when opening it doesn't stop.



The main dish, hamburger steak, is a reproduction of the hamburger steak made by Kay, the sister of Ename Kitamura, who is the same as the astronaut of the main character Mutta, in Volume 10 # 89 "Table and Departure". This time it's the moon viewing season, so it's a "special version" with a fried egg that looks like the moon.

The side dish salad is the one that appeared in Volume 1 # 3 "One screw, life is". Kenichi Makabe, who is also a close friend of Mutta, ate this salad at the JAXA cafeteria on the day of the astronaut selection test interview. It was a set of "Milky Way Curry".

◆ With pick, mat and "Quotations"

The kit comes with an original pick that you cut and paste yourself and a special place mat (both made of paper). In addition, the Space Brothers "Quotations Card". Fans are dying, this.

◆ I made manga rice

I also made the longed-for manga rice, the En-eating editorial department!

Add the recipe and ingredients to the meal kit, prepare your own "milk" and "butter", and add various seasonings, and you're ready to go.


First, bake the fried egg that accompanies the hamburger steak. In addition, cut komatsuna and carrots in a microwave oven with butter.




Prepare the salad here. Slice the red onion and leave it in the water. By the way, red onions were small and difficult to cut with a kitchen knife, so I used a slicer.

Next, make a hamburger steak. Finely chop the onion, put it in a bowl, and microwave it. Add minced meat, bread crumbs, and seasonings and roll into an oval shape. Bake this on both sides in a frying pan, add water, cover and steam for about 5 minutes.




I will return to the salad again here. While steaming the hamburger, cut the lettuce and cucumber, and serve with drained red onions and tomatoes to complete!


All that remains is the finish of the hamburger steak. Put the cut trumpet mushrooms and sauce in a frying pan and simmer for about 2 minutes while entwining with the hamburger steak.


Serve on a plate and decorate with garnished vegetables and fried eggs.




When you put a fluffy juicy hamburger steak on it, the gravy is entwined with a sweet and spicy sauce and it's delicious! The salad is also crispy. If you add rice here, it's already a good dinner.

◆ Impressions I tried

The pouch says "I can make it in less than 20 minutes", but it took me almost an hour to complete it because I was shooting and washing the equipment every time. However, if you are familiar with it, you can make it in about 20 minutes. In addition, it may be convenient to organize the ingredients for each menu before cooking.

Even though there are processes such as chopping, it was a lot easier because I didn't have to measure the amount of sauce or cut out the appropriate amount of meat and vegetables!

Even a beginner of manga rice like me can easily make it, so if you are interested in manga rice, you may try it as a starting point!
