Meanwhile, at the bread corner of a supermarket (Tokyu Store) that I happened to stop by , I discovered that "hybrid bread " was being sold one after another by Yamazaki. So, this time, I bought and ate 4 kinds of new hybrid bread that can be bought at a reasonable price!
I bought 4 products, "Butter Melon Danish", "Scorn Wassan Butter Flavor", "Warnut Chocolate", and "Shoe A La Mode Custard & Whipped".
● Butter melon Danish (130 yen)
A hybrid bread that combines a refreshing melon bread skin and a soft Danish pastry. At first glance (except for the square) it is a normal melon bread. I am wondering what kind of texture it has.
When you bite into it, the initial mouthfeel and fluffy texture are almost the same as the usual melon bread. The crispness of the sugar that coats the surface is also alive and well.
However! As expected, my parents have melon bread and Danish pastry, so the butter flavor is super rich! The more you chew, the more delicious the butter spreads in your mouth.
● Scone wassan butter flavor (130 yen)
A scone washer that is made by folding scone dough into multiple layers and baking it to give it a savory and crispy texture. Needless to say, it is a hybrid bread of scones and croissants.
Perhaps because the dough is folded and baked, it may have a more crisp texture and aroma than regular scones ...? The inside is moist. The flavor is so rich that the butter is fragrant the moment you open the bag, and the taste of flour and butter spreads in your mouth while being simple! It's a dish that is full of food.
● Warnut chocolate (130 yen)
Warnuts that you can enjoy the "double" taste of waffles and donuts. A waffle-shaped fried dough with a soft and smooth texture that combines eggs and milk. It is coated with chocolate and topped with almonds. This is just like the "wonut " from Waffles Cafe in the US, which I introduced in Eating a while ago !?
Its taste is similar to Mister Donut "Chocolate Fashion". The fragrant donuts and slightly bitter chocolate are accented with crispy almonds. It's true that the moist mouthfeel is not like a waffle, but I wonder if this is close to old-fashioned donuts.
I was worried that it might be too sweet, but the bittersweetness of the chocolate added to the overall sweetness, making it an easy-to-eat dish.
By the way, Yamazaki's war nuts also seem to have a "strawberry flavor" topped with strawberry granules and white crunch. If I find it next time, I'll try it.
● Shoe a la mode custard & whip (120 yen)
Choux pastry is a mode in which custard cream is wrapped in a light textured dough that contains choux pastry, and choux pastry is placed on top of it and baked. Is it a hybrid of cream puff and bread? It seems that it is finished by adding whipped cream at the end.
The fluffy dough becomes chewy while chewing, and it certainly tastes like choux pastry! When eaten with custard or whipped cream packed inside, the deliciousness of cream puffs is added to the chewy texture of the dough, making it a very satisfying dessert.
After eating and comparing the four types this time, the one I liked the most was " Scone Wassan ". The moist and refreshing texture and rich butter flavor are addictive! Even if you don't have a cafe or a sweets specialty store nearby, you can easily buy it at a supermarket, so if you see it, please give it a try.
