Yamazaki "Strawberry Special mini" and "Sweet Boulle mini"

We have previously introduced " Hokkaido Cheese Steamed Cake Mini," a mini-sized version of Yamazaki's " Hokkaido Cheese Ste amed Cake," but there are other mini-sized family packs of Yamazaki's popular sweet breads!

This time, we will introduce two mini-sized products: "Strawberry Special mini," a sweet and hearty "Strawberry Special," and " Sweet Beurre mini, " a mini-sized version of the well-known "Sweet Beurre," a large dome-shaped sweet bread. Both are individually wrapped in an assortment of several pieces, making them easy to carry around.

Strawberry Special mini

Strawberry Special" is a sweet bun with strawberry cream and milk-flavored cream made with condensed milk from Hokkaido sandwiched between fluffy sponge cake dough. The "Strawberry Special mini" is a mini-sized assortment of four pieces in one bag.


The "Strawberry Special mini" is a little more than half the size of the regular size. The thickness is also a little more moderate.



There is no major difference in ingredients, and the calorie count per piece is 171 kcal compared to 453 kcal for the regular size. Less than half!


When I tried the mini size, I found that the cake batter of the mini size was thinner than that of the regular size, and the two layers of cream inside were more intense! The taste of the soft and fluffy mouthfeel and the smooth, sweet and sour strawberry & milk cream is the same, but you can taste the juiciness of the cream more directly.

Sweet Beurre mini

Sweet Beurre" is a big bread with an addictive fluffy texture and subtly sweet taste. The voluminous, dome-shaped visual appeal makes bread lovers want to devour it with all their might at least once. The mini size of such sweet beurre is "sweet beurre mini," with three pieces in one bag.


The diameter of the regular size is about 13.5 cm, while the mini size is about 8.5 cm. This is also a little over half the size. The ingredients are the same, and the calories per piece are 497 kcal for the regular size and 181 kcal for the mini size, making them much more compact.



The mini size has less of the "best part" of the sweet boule (as I like to think of it), the part that sticks out from the bottom, but it has the same soft, fluffy texture, moist texture, and savory sweetness. The small size is a bit smaller than the regular size, but the dough is a bit more filling than the regular size.


For those who can't eat the regular size because it is too big, I highly recommend the mini size so that you can enjoy the taste easily. It is also nice that the calorie content is moderate.

How to enjoy the

"Strawberry Special mini" and "Sweet Boule mini" I tried various ways to enjoy the " Strawberry Special mini " and " Sweet Boule mini", and found that the "Strawberry Special mini" tastes better when cooled in the refrigerator and the "Sweet Boule mini" tastes better when slightly baked in a toaster.

The Strawberry Special mini was cool and moist, like a shortcake, while the Sweet Bourg mini was crispy and fluffy. The sweet boule was crispy and fluffy and tasted like a freshly baked cake. I think the regular size sweet boule is too big to bake in the toaster, so if you get the mini size, please give them a try. The best part about the mini size is that there are multiple pieces in the package, so you can enjoy many different arrangements!
