Horochiki

Oyako-jyu

The "Horochiki Oyako-jyu" is a "premium" dish consisting of chicken thigh meat so tender that it can be loosely pulled off the bone, and is wrapped in Nakau's signature "special egg". The chicken thighs are grilled over charcoal and then steamed slowly and carefully to a texture so tender that it can be loosened with chopsticks. The whole chicken thigh meat is used, bone in, so that the full flavor of the chicken can be enjoyed.

The addition of chicken oil as a secret ingredient gives the dish a milder, sweeter, and gentler flavor than the Oyako-don (chicken and egg bowl). Yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper), which is served separately, is recommended to add a refreshing flavor to the dish.
