Ozoni

Toraya Karyo, a restaurant attached to some Toraya stores, will prepare "ozoni" at the beginning of the year, the official website announced.

The ozoni at Toraya, which originated in Kyoto, is made with white miso paste and

includes round rice cakes, prawns, and Kyoto carrots

. The white miso used in Toraya's ozoni is produced by Honda Miso, which is located near Toraya Karyo's Kyoto Ichijo branch. The sweet, thick, rich white miso, round rice cakes, prawns, Kyoto carrots, and other ingredients are used to create a unique New Year's flavor that can be enjoyed at Toraya Karyo.

Available at Toraya Karyo Akasaka Store, Tokyo Midtown Store, Imperial Hotel Store, Toraya Tokyo Cafe, Toraya Karyo Kyoto Ichijo Store, and Kyoto Shijo Nanza Store.

The price is 1,650 yen (tax included, same below), but at the Imperial Hotel and TORAYA TOKYO, the price is 1,760 yen. The sales period is from January 4 to 20. However, Toraya Karyo Kyoto Ichijo and Kyoto Shijo Nanza will be on sale from January 3 and January 2, respectively. The Akasaka store will be closed on January 6. Each store has limited quantities and may sell out.
