It was announced on the official website that Toraya will start selling chestnut namagashi. It will appear at namagashi stores from September 1st to October 31st. Three types are available, and the selling price is 584 yen (tax included) per piece.

At Toraya, chestnuts are considered to be an autumn tradition, and chestnut namagashi made from only domestically produced new chestnuts that can be harvested that year will be prepared. Three types of "Chestnut steamed yokan", "Chestnut powder rice cake" and "Chestnut Kanoko" are handled.

Toraya chestnut steamed yokan

"Chestnut-steamed yokan" is a namagashi made by adding flour and kudzu to the bean paste and carefully steaming the flavor of chestnuts. The sales start date is undecided only for the Gotemba store, and will be announced as soon as it is decided.

"Chestnut powder mochi" (with bean paste in Gyuhi wrapping) is a confectionery made by mixing backed chestnuts and white bean paste and adding it to the bean paste in Gyuhi wrapping. The Gotemba store will not be on sale from October 16th to 18th.

Toraya chestnut Kanoko

"Kurikanoko" (with white bean paste) has honey-pickled glossy chestnuts attached to the bean paste. It is likened to "Kanoko mottle" (white spots on the back of a deer), and chestnuts are used instead of sweetly boiled beans to make it feel like a fruitful autumn.
