Yuzu sweets for the Winter Solstice

Toraya is now offering sweets using yuzu (citron) for the Winter Solstice. Yuzu Goyomi", "Anpaste [Yuzu]" and "Yuzu Kan" are introduced on the official website.

According to Toraya, yuzu is said to be effective in preventing all illnesses, and it has been a custom since ancient times to take a yuzu bath on the winter solstice to pray for good health. In 2022, the winter solstice will be on December 22, and sweets using yuzu, which is in season from now on, are recommended for the coming season of cold weather.

Goyomi

"Yuzu Goyomi" is a mild-tasting brick confection that allows you to enjoy the taste of white bean paste and yuzu (Japanese citron). It is recommended to eat it as it is or warm it slightly. You can enjoy the flavor and softer texture.

Priced at 324 yen per piece (tax included, same below), they will be available until mid-January 2023. The product will be on sale until mid-January 2023, but may run out of stock or be sold later.


Anpaste [

Yuzu

] "Anpaste [Yuzu]" will be available at Toraya An Stand. It is made from rare white azuki beans and yuzu (Japanese citron) paste.


The paste is made from whole yuzu citrus fruits, which have a mildly bitter, sweet, and moderately acidic flavor and texture. It is suitable not only for spreading on bread, but also with dairy products such as yogurt and cream cheese, and can also be combined with shiro-miso to make yuzu-miso.

The price is 1,512 yen for a single product. An assortment of an anpaste [koshian] and an anpaste [yuzu] each and five yuzu goyomi is also available at Toraya's official online store, priced at 4,536 yen. Both items will be available until mid-January 2023.

Kankan

"Yuzu Kankan" is a confectionery associated with the winter solstice. Yuzu Yokan is an aromatic yuzu jelly specially made with the juice of yuzu citrons, and can be eaten with the skin on if desired. It comes in a box with outer dimensions of 9.3 x 9.3 x 7.5 cm.

The price is 2,700 yen. The product is only available for pre-order, and applications can be made until December 16. The order will be closed when the limited number is reached. Delivery dates are December 21 and 22.
