Toraya has announced a new line of confections for Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day. The new products include "Yawaraka Yokan 'Yururuka'", "Autumn Package Small Yokan", "An-yaki", and "Seasonal Yokan 'Chitose Chrysanthemum'".

Yawaraka Yokan "Yururuka

Yawaraka Yokan Yururuka" will be sold at directly managed stores and some department stores from September 7, 2022 to late March, 2023. The price is 378 yen per piece (tax included), 2,484 yen for a set of 6 pieces, and 3,726 yen for a set of 9 pieces.

According to Toraya, "yururuka" is a word found in the Tale of Genji and has the same meaning as "yuruyaka. Yururuka" is made softer than Toraya's other mizu-yokan. The ingredients are kept the same, but the texture is just right and the flavor of the bean paste can be felt. It is registered as a "Universal Design Food," a standard for foods that are easy to eat, and is suitable for everyone from the elderly to children. Two flavors, "Gozen" and "Matcha", are available.

Autumn Package Small Yokan

The "Autumn Package Small Yokan" will be available from September 1 to the end of October. The price is 292 yen per piece.

The package, which was renewed in 2022, features a motif of the moon and autumn leaves. The package, which will be renewed in 2022, features a motif of the waxing and waning of the moon and the changing colors of the mountains to express the transition of autumn.

An-yaki

An-yaki" will be available from early September 2022 to early April 2023. The price is 238 yen per piece.

An-yaki is a mild-tasting sweet baked with bean paste, egg yolk, and fukurashi flour mixed in. The deliciousness of the red bean paste can be enjoyed with a soft and flaky texture.

There are three types: "Shiro-an" with a mild flavor of white bean paste with a gentle egg flavor; "Kuro-goma" with the aroma of fragrant black sesame combined with Koshi-an and white bean paste; and "Matcha" with a deep taste of green tea that has a moderate harmony of bitter, astringent and umami flavors.

Seasonal Yokan "Chitose Chrysanthemum

Seasonal Yokan "Chitose-Giku" is available from late August to late September. The selling price is 1,944 yen per medium-sized piece.

The bright colors of red, yellow, and purple depict chrysanthemums celebrating longevity. A package decorated with gorgeous chrysanthemums will be available. Some stores do not carry this product.
