What was the most delicious...?

No. 1: Beef and konnyaku bokkake (350 yen)

MUJI "Beef and Konnyaku Bokkake

As we have mentioned before, it is insanely delicious. It is impeccable.

The beef tenderloin is filled with a lot of beef tendon, and when you bite into it, it loosens up and the sweetness of the fat spreads out. The beef tenderloin and plump konnyaku go well with the thick, sweet and spicy sauce. The chili peppers in the sauce make it a little spicy, so even on days when you don't have much of an appetite, you can still enjoy it.

The sauce is sweet, rich, and thick. The spices give the sauce a crispy finish to the umami of the meat and the sweetness that melts out of the fat. The meat is richer and chewier than expected, so there are no complaints about the volume. Add boiled eggs if you like!

The hamburger steak is filling, but it is a bit lonely on its own, so it is better to serve it with a fried egg and lettuce.

No. 5 Mexican-style chili con carne (280 yen)

MUJI "Mexican style chili con carne".

Chickpeas and kidney beans are plentiful in this dish, making bean lovers happy. The beans are chunky and chewy, and the spices are a bit spicy. It is an authentic dish with a strong spice flavor.

It is a thick paste, not a soupy soup, so it is very satisfying to eat. In addition to rice, it can be served on bread in the style of an open sandwich, burrito, or taco. You can even top it with melted cheese to make it a little mellower!

MUJI "Sour and Hot Sauce with Kurobuta Pork and Barley Black Vinegar

I thought there would be a lot of meat in there, but it was in the form of small chunks of minced meat, so it was a little less hearty.... But the taste is perfect. The vinegar flavor is perfect for women.

The spicy hotness crawls on the tongue with chili. The rich cheese melted into this dish will mellow you out later. I'm glad there's plenty of ground meat in this dish! However, it is a bit bland on its own, so we recommend adding tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese as toppings.

No. 9 Kesennuma shark's fin soup (490 yen)

MUJI "Kesennuma Shark's Fin Soup

A dish of thick shark's fin soup served over rice like red bean paste.

MUJI "Kesennuma Shark's Fin Soup

MUJI "Kesennuma Shark's Fin Soup

The flavor of the sesame oil and the umami of the shark's fin clings to the rice and is delicious! It is a bit weak in punch, though. The gentle taste is comforting, but it is not something that I would personally want to repeat over and over again.

Nevertheless, the shark's fin at this price is a good value for money. It is good when you want to relieve your stomach or on a hangover day!

No. 10 YUKKEJANG (250 yen)

MUJI "Yukkejang

Authentic yukkejang with chili peppers and gochujang (red pepper paste). It is colorfully filled with ingredients such as beef, royal ferns, and bean sprouts.

MUJI "Yukkejang

Since it is quite spicy, we recommend eating it over cold rice rather than over hot rice. Also, be careful not to use too much rice, as it can make the dish seem too sticky and flavorless.

MUJI "Yukkejang

This is my ranking of MUJI's retort series to put over rice! I can guarantee that all of them are delicious, but the top three in particular are products that I would seriously recommend. All of the products are for one serving.
