MUJI "Soups that Make the Best Use of the Ingredients" and "Side Dishes that Make the Best Use of the Ingredients

MUJI will launch five retort pouch products, including "Shrimp Bisque" from the "Soups that Make the Best Use of Ingredients" series, which can be easily heated in a microwave oven without removing the package, on October 26, and six products, including "Meat and Potato" from the "Side Dishes that Make the Best Use of Ingredients" series, on November 16 at stores nationwide and online. The six items, including "Meat and Potatoes," will be available at stores nationwide and on the Internet from November 16, 2012.

These are MUJI's first retort pouch products that can be heated in a microwave oven without removing the package. A total of 11 types of "soups" and "side dishes" will be available.

Soups that make the most of ingredients

Shrimp Bisque

The flavor of shrimp is brought to life with the addition of cream and butter to create a rich, full-bodied taste. Priced at 250 yen (tax included, same as below).

Potage with Porcini Cream

The aroma of porcini and the flavor of mushrooms is brought out by the addition of roasted mushrooms. Price: 250 yen.

Kabocha Potage

The gentle sweetness of pumpkin is brought out with the addition of cinnamon and nutmeg to give depth to the flavor. The price is 250 yen.

Edamame Potage

The flavor of edamame (soybeans) is brought to life with the addition of soymilk for a mild and rich taste. Price: 250 yen.

Tomato Potage

The acidity of tomatoes is utilized, and rich cheese and white wine are added to create a mild, full-bodied flavor. The price is 250 yen.

Side dishes that make the most of the ingredients

Meat and potatoes

Beef and potatoes are simmered with bonito and kelp to create a gentle flavor. Priced at 290 yen.

Meat Tofu

Beef and baked tofu are seasoned with soy sauce and sugar to create a sweet and spicy flavor. Price: 290 yen.

Stewed Pork Kakuni

Pork belly and daikon radish are simmered in a sweet soy sauce sauce to make it soft and tender. Price: 350 yen.

Buri Daikon

Roughly-sized yellowtail and daikon radish are simmered in a rich miso sauce with a hint of ginger. Price: 350 yen.

Tomato stewed hamburger steak

Plump hamburger steak simmered in a rich tomato sauce with fried eggplant and olives. Price: 350 yen.
