This time, we would like to introduce a dessert drink that is perfect for the hot season, "Drink Colorful Jelly," made with gelatin from the gelatin manufacturer Zerace. You can easily recreate the texture of the "shake it and drink it jelly" you see in vending machines at home!
Colorful drinking jar jelly" made with your favorite vegetable juice
The only ingredients are vegetable juices, gelatin powder, and sugar (to taste). You can also use tomato juice or almond milk. The juices used this time are the purple and yellow colors of Kagome's "Vegetable Seikatsu. Vegetable juice with fruit juice has a good sweetness and does not require sugar.
We recommend using glass jars that can be sealed and stored easily. Mason jars with straw caps are convenient because you can drink the jelly directly from the jar.
The key to making drinking jelly is to reduce the ratio of gelatin to make it "softer" than normal jelly. In this case, 600 cc of vegetable juice was used for 1 bag (5 g) of gelatin. This ratio is recommended for drinking through a straw, but you can adjust the firmness to your liking.
First, sprinkle the gelatin into a heatproof container containing 50 cc of juice and heat in a microwave oven for about 30 seconds. Keep an eye on it, as it tends to spill over!
If adding sugar, add and dissolve it, then add it to the rest of the juice a little at a time and mix well. Then pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate to harden. Basically, it's the same way you make regular jelly, and it's very easy!
The resulting jelly is so soft and fluffy that it cannot be scooped with a spoon. When you suck it through a straw, the thick jelly will comfortably moisten your throat.
It is recommended as a snack when you are hungry, as it will fill you up more than a regular juice. If you put it in a thermos bottle or other cold-keeping container, you can take it to the office or on an outing while it is still this firm.
The colorful jelly that peeks through the glass is very cool to the eye. It can also be used for entertaining, so you may want to keep it in your refrigerator during the summer.
