I found "Tamafu" somewhere in Ikebukuro, so I bought it. This product, which has become a hot topic on SNS and has been sold out one after another, is priced at 540 yen (tax included) for 7 pieces per bag.

Fuya Fuji Shoten Tama Fu

"Tamafu" made at "Fuya Fuji Shoten", a specialty store for fu in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. It's light and tens of times larger than the size of the fu that we usually see. Almost the same size as the iPhone. It's definitely the biggest fu I have ever eaten.



Before eating, make a few holes in the bottom of the tamafu. This will make it easier to inhale the juice. Immediately, I prepared a soup and gently floated it on top.





Gradually, the fu sucks in the juice and breaks its shape. It took about 3 minutes to completely soak in the juice.




It has a thick and chewy texture like mochi. The taste is well absorbed. This is pretty good. Moreover, it is a nice place to have a low calorie of 123 kcal per bag (7 pieces). It seems to be useful as a light meal while on a diet.


Besides soup, it goes well with consomme soup and Chinese soup. You can also enjoy it as an ingredient for sukiyaki and sukiyaki.
