Ingredients

4 okra
4 chikuwa
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
garlic tube about 2cm
2 tablespoons water

Use thin okra for easier preparation.

Directions

1. Wash okra and cut off the hefty part. If the bottom part is blackened, cut it off. 2.

2. put okra directly into the hole of chikuwa. Cut the chikuwa in half. 3.

Put sesame oil in a frying pan, add chikuwa and fry over medium heat until lightly browned. Add water, cover and steam over low heat for 4 minutes. 4.

Add soy sauce, garlic and white sesame seeds.

How does okra-stuffed chikuwa taste?

When you bite into it, you can feel the plump texture of the chikuwa. When you bite into it, the stickiness and crunchy texture of the okra takes over. The savory saltiness of the soy sauce and the aroma of garlic spread through the air. The white sesame seeds add a nice accent.

Even when cold, the taste and texture remain the same, making it a tasty side dish for lunch. The bright green color adds a splash of color.
