sake 50ml (1.69us fl oz)
water (esp. cool, fresh water, e.g. drinking water) 300ml (10.14us fl oz)

Braised Oyster and Daikon with Sweet and Spicy Sauce

Ingredients (for 2 persons)

200g (7.05oz) oyster
300g (10.58oz) radish
green onion, to taste
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin (sweet cooking sake)
1/2 tbsp sugar and grated ginger
50ml (1.69us fl oz) sake
300ml (10.14us fl oz) water

Wash oyster in salted water. Wash daikon, cut into 1.5cm slices and cut into 4 pieces.


Place radishes in a heatproof container, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 5 minutes.


In a frying pan, bring soy sauce, mirin, sugar, ginger, sake, and water to a boil. Place the daikon on top, cover with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes.


Remove the lid, add the oysters, cover with a lid and simmer for 5 minutes.


Serve in a bowl and garnish with sliced green onions.
