I want to taste remote island gourmet! I went to the antenna shop "Tokyo Ai Land"

Beautiful color camellia petal jam

There are many remote islands in Tokyo. The antenna shop "Tokyo Ai Land" where you can enjoy the gourmet food is located at Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal. You can easily get delicious food such as decapterus menchi burger, Ogasawara lamb, and camellia petal jam.

Entrance to the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands

At Takeshiba Passenger Terminal No. 1 Waiting Area

The Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal is the gateway to the remote islands of Tokyo, where high-speed ships and large passenger ships to the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands arrive and depart.

However, even those who do not plan to travel by sea can drop in. Immediately after getting off Takeshiba Station on the Tokyo Rinkai Shinkotsu Rinkai Line (Yurikamome), "Tokyo Ai Land" has a shop in front of the spacious first waiting room on the first floor, where you can find specialty products from the islands. In addition, there are dishes that make use of the ingredients of the island.

A lot of island food!

Shimato Soy Sauce

Ashitaba Tea

In the product sales corner, you can find items such as Hachijojima's red pepper soy sauce "Shimato soy sauce" and Izu Islands' island vegetable "Ashitaba" tea.

Alcohol is especially fulfilling. In addition to Aogashima's shochu "Aogashima", which has a core fan base, there is also a rum "Ogasawara Lamb" made in the Ogasawara Islands.

The liquor section is particularly fulfilling

Each has its own history. For example, Ogasawara Lamb can be traced back to the 19th century, when residents who moved to the Ogasawara Islands from Europe and the United States traded rum with whaling boats traveling in the open ocean. After becoming a Japanese territory, brewing progressed as "foam liquor" and "mead", and after being suspended after evacuation in the war, it was revived again from the latter half of the 20th century.

Ogasawara Ram!

Drink in the store

At the cafe in the back, you can enjoy a menu that makes use of ingredients from the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. There are various types, but I ordered the popular "Muro Aji Menchi Burger" (600 yen, tax included, same below) and the shot of Ogasawara Lamb (600 yen) that I was curious about.

Ogasawara lamb is poured into a glass and comes out immediately. The clear liquid color is visually indistinguishable from water, but if you shake the glass even a little, you can see the sweet but tingling odor even if it is more than 50 cm away.

The face gets hot as soon as you take a sip. It seems to burn when the rum passes through the throat. The heat blows away in an instant and the spine gets cold, but the cheeks shine.

Obviously, it's very dry. While you're licking it, you can enjoy the flavor of distilled liquor made from sugar cane, but when you blow the glass, you feel like you're drinking fire.

Menchi-katsu

Muro Aji Menchi Burger. This is good

Muro Ajimenchi Burger brought the freshly made burger to the table.

Menchi-katsu is hot. The reporter has a big mouth, but he still feels a little bit less confident.

Thick cutlet

Stop worrying about your surroundings, open your chin, and squeeze into your nose with a fishy flavor. The onions that were packed together were claimed by raw tomatoes, large cheeses, and a strong sauce, but the decapterus was not defeated at all.

I hadn't eaten fish minced meat so much, but it was surprisingly perfect for hamburgers. The buns also have a crisp skin and a fluffy inside. Impression that each material is well balanced.

When I was hungry, I went back to the product sales corner and bought some souvenirs. The first is camellia flower jam from Izu Oshima.

Camellia petal jam

I bought it because of the color

The camellia of Izu Oshima has a long history, and was originally raised to collect camellia oil, but recently it seems that more various uses have been expanded.

The bright red color of the "Subaru Camellia Petal Jam" (800 yen) that I purchased is eye-catching. When I scoop it up with a spoon, the jelly-like shape does not seem to be a flower at first glance.

Jelly

It is slightly sweet when eaten, but it has no habit and leaves no aftertaste. I imagined a strong scent like a rose flower jam, but it's totally different.

When you drop it in black tea, the loose petals spread out and are beautiful. However, I don't like to lose the taste of black tea.

Flowers spread and beautiful, but taste loses to black tea

Try it with cream cheese. You can enjoy the light taste of jam while taking advantage of the vividness of the appearance. It may not be bad to put it on yogurt. Anyway, it seems good to think about the combination with the feeling of loving the colors of the bright red flowers.

Match with cream cheese

This looks good

Ogasawara Passion

Also Sake

Another souvenir is "Can Chu-Hi Ogasawara Passion" (160 yen), which uses passion fruit that is said to be grown in Ogasawara.

It's translucent when you transfer it to a glass, such as adding turbid juice with the fruit squeezed. When you take a sip, the aroma is clear that of passion fruit, and the acidity is moderate, but it is suppressed to the extent that it is easy to drink.

Slightly translucent due to turbid juice

It feels like juice and can be used very much. It's slightly sweet, but the aftertaste is refreshing, so it seems to go well with meat dishes. It's an atmosphere where you can open cans comfortably with your meal.

As I eat and drink souvenirs, I feel more motivated to go to the Izu Islands and the Ogasawara Islands. The next time I visited the Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal, I thought that I would like to board the ship and go out to the sea.
