Hattendo's heart-shaped "Baumkuchen" is now available on the official online store, with orders being placed from January 27th, and shipping as frozen products starting February 1st.

This sweet is a collaboration with Covad, the manufacturer and distributor of a patented machine that bakes heart-shaped baumkuchen. The machine will be installed in a display-type workshop at "Hattendo Cafelier" in "Hattendo Village," a food theme park operated in front of Hiroshima Airport, so that visitors can see the baking process as it is finished.


Egg yolks are used to create a flavor reminiscent of the custard flavor of Hattendo's cream buns, and the texture is smooth and moist with a gentle taste. The temperature and specific gravity of the dough are controlled, and the degree of whisking is carefully monitored to produce a fluffy and moist texture.
