Beni-ringo" (red apple) from the month of the drum.

Kohzuki "Beni-ringo

On October 8, "Beni-Ringo," a two-bite size baked manju that looks and tastes like a real apple, will go on sale at all Kyo-Kashi Place Kohzuki stores and the official online store. Prices start at 216 yen per piece (tax included). The product will be on sale until mid-March.

The "Beni-ringo" is the second product in the "Lemon Manju Sousou" series, following the popular "Lemon Manju Sousou" released in March 2020 as a new product for early summer.

The homemade white bean paste is mixed with dried apples cooked in brandy syrup instead of fresh apples, resulting in a crispy, crunchy yet fresh apple red bean paste with a rich flavor. The moist and soft dough that surrounds the apple bean paste is also flavored with apples, so that the moment you put it in your mouth, you will feel as if you are eating a whole apple. The apple is a palm-sized reproduction of a small apple, with the stem made of "konashi," which is used in japanese sweets, and the leaves are made of pumpkin seeds. Finally, a gelatin coating is applied to give it the sheen of a freshly picked apple.

The box is made of warm, slightly rough paper with a hand-drawn illustration of an apple printed on it. When you open the box, you will find a row of small, colonized apples.
