Easy and simple with just leeks! Here is a recipe for leeks with garlic butter that you won't be able to stop eating as a side dish with rice or as a snack.
Fried leeks with garlic butter recipe
Ingredients
2 leeksA clove of garlic
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon mirin
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Directions
Cut leeks into bite-size pieces.Heat butter in a frying pan, add chopped garlic and bring out the aroma over low heat. Be careful not to burn!
Throw in the leeks. Saute over medium-low heat until browned. Keep rolling to a minimum as the leeks will fall apart if you fiddle with them too much.
Add sake, mirin, and soy sauce in that order.
When the water has evaporated, it is ready to serve. Sprinkle with shichimi (seven spices) to taste.
How does it taste?
At first, you taste the rich garlic butter soy sauce that envelops the scallions. As you bite into it, you can enjoy the change in texture of the layered leeks, crispy on the outside and melting on the inside. Along with this, the juicy richness of the butter seeps out.... You can eat only leeks, but you will never get tired of them! If you let your mind wander, the two pieces of leeks will be gone in no time. The shichimi (seven spices) may or may not be used, but if you add it, the flavor will be more intense. I also recommend pouring the sauce over rice and making a "negi no gari-bata donburi" (bowl of rice topped with scallions and garibata)! This recipe is useful when all you have is leeks and you want another dish.
