Seigetsu's "Red Silo

Hokkaido Seigetsu "Akai Silo

The "Red Silo" is a popular product of the Hokkaido confectionery store Seigetsu. This sweet became a topic of conversation when it appeared during the "mugging time" of the women's curling team at the Pyeongchang Olympics.

This cheesecake is made from the bounty of nature in Hokkaido. The package features the "silo" that gives the product its name. The brick silo used to be one of Hokkaido's traditional features.

Have you ever seen an actual silo?

1 piece in a small box

It is not a large whole type, but a cute size of about 7 cm in diameter. The cake is rich in milk, cheese, butter, and eggs, and its deep richness is impressive. It has a mild taste filled with the flavor of milk.

The cake is fluffy on the outside and becomes smoother as it moves inward. It is rich, yet light and easy to melt in the mouth. It is so delicious that you feel satisfied and want to eat another piece.

The purchase price for a pack of five is 778 yen (tax not included). They can be stored at room temperature (below 25 degrees Celsius) and last about two weeks. You can also buy them at the official Seigetsu online store, but due to their popularity, it may take some time for them to be shipped (at the time of writing). This time, I got it at the antenna store "Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza".
