■ Tasting Western-style New Year dishes!
This time, I tasted "KANDOU NIPPON Osechi with Veuve Clicquot Half Bottle" which is a set with champagne "Veuve Clicquot". It is a three-tiered stack for four people, and reservations are currently being accepted on the "KANDOU NIPPON" website.
◆ Ichiju
In the center of Ichiju, "Thermidor", which is a gratin-style finish of shrimp with white sauce and cheese, is placed in the center, and is packed with black beans and tazukuri, kazunoko, boiled walnuts, and sweet potato kinton.
Black beans are sweetly boiled in red wine. When pressed with the tongue, it crushes into a smooth paste and fills the mouth with rich sweetness and the gorgeous scent of red wine.
Kazunoko is also arranged in a Western style. A number of dice-cut kazunoko are mixed with mayonnaise and mustard along with crispy shrimp and grainy tree buds. The creamy taste is fresh with the bubble wrap texture of Kazunoko!
◆ Two heavy
The second layer is packed with roast beef, datemaki, burdock sesame sauce, pickles and duck loin, along with the classic New Year dishes "boiled".
Boiled is a simple seasoning that complements the ingredients of vegetables and chicken. It has a slightly Western-style taste with bouillabaisse and consomme. The big chicken is delicious!
Datemaki with a fluffy texture has a maple syrup flavor. The taste combined with the egg may have something similar to hot cakes.
◆ Participation
The ginseng is packed with fig and walnut live red and cheese souffle, as well as cheese, foie gras and caviar jarring.
Live red is recommended to be sliced thinly, topped with plenty of cheese and foie gras mousse, and eaten with champagne. When toasted, it is crispy and contrasts with moist cheese and mousse.
Cheese souffle has a light texture that melts softly. However, the richness of cheese is solid. The sweetness is modest, so you can adjust the taste with dried fruits if you like.
■ Summary
Even though it is "Western style", it has all the traditional New Year dishes, and there is not much discomfort at first glance. The taste is not the Western food itself, which is far from the New Year dishes, but the one with the essence of "Western style" added. Personally, I was surprised that the bubble wrap texture of the number of children I was not good at was rather delicious. Traditional osechi is good, but once in a while, eating something unusual may change the way you look at osechi.
