A friend of mine who goes to a store in Hiroshima with his family strongly recommended me to eat it, and he taught me how to eat it, so I (the author) decided to go to the Kingken Tokyo store to put it into practice. I went to a certain Hamamatsucho.
The nearest stations to the Tokyo store are Hamamatsucho Station, Daimon Station, and Shibakoen Station. It takes about 5 minutes on foot from each. Only the U-shaped counter has 12 seats in the store. The clerk cooks it skillfully. When I visited around 13:00 on weekdays, there were two waiters in front of me.
Kingken's soupless tantanmen is divided into 4 levels of spiciness, "1 spicy" to "4 spicy", and "2 spicy" is the standard. I chose "3 spicy" recommended by my friend. Looking at the explanation on the ticket vending machine, it says that 3 spicy is "spicy & numb, both loved ones". I love you, no problem! I ordered "Onsen tamago" and "Half rice", which were pushed hard by my friends, along with 3 spicy sashimi (200g (7.05oz) boiled), and it cost 680 yen. It's the same price as Hiroshima. How conscientious!
By the way, when I looked around the store, I found something called "a delicious way to eat" in front of the counter. The contents are "Mix 30 times or more before eating until the sauce is gone", "Eat without mixing the Japanese pepper for the tabletop", "Eat the hot spring egg with noodles", and "Shime" How to make rice in charge of rice. "
King eaves first experience me. While reading it seriously, the soupless tantanmen came out. It would have been less than 5 minutes since the order was placed. It's speedy.
Even though it was just placed on the counter, the rich scent of Chinese pepper that seems to make you feel like you're inhaling it to your heart's content will attack you. On top of the thin noodles, there are plenty of meat miso, green onions, and Chinese pepper. Also, under the noodles, you can see a red sauce that seems to contain chili oil. It looks spicy ... but it looks like a horse!
Now, hold your chopsticks and mix them! While loosening the noodles, entwin the sauce all over. The noodles are gradually turning reddish brown. Is it another breath until the sauce disappears? Round and round ... I don't know from around 20 times, but I should have mixed it 30 times. Sip the noodles, which have a slightly milder scent than the beginning, all the time.
Spicy. Certainly spicy. However, it is not as hot as the moment you put it in your mouth. Rather, the first bite is surprisingly mild, first the gorgeous scent of the pepper comes out of the nose, then the spiciness gradually spreads, and by the time the noodles are swallowed, the numbness of the pepper remains on the tongue. Spicy with "umami" that is different from "super spicy" by red pepper. This is delicious!
Onsen tamago should be eaten with noodles in the same way as sukiyaki. According to the "delicious way of eating", that person can eat the rice that is the bearer of the shime. On the other hand, my friend likes to mix it with noodles. Well, this is my first time, so I decided to follow the restaurant's recommended way of eating.
The trolley and rich yolk unique to hot spring eggs are often entwined with the noodles. In addition to relieving the spiciness, the richness is also a plus. Why are eggs so delicious!
I intended to mix it well, but the final stage was definitely more delicious, so it may not have been mixed enough. By the way, King's facebook also said "Please mix more and more!" As a "request to the people of Tokyo". It seems that there is not enough training to determine the best condition.
After eating the noodles, it's time to turn the rice. Put the rice in the bowl that contained the noodles, and sprinkle the sauce and vinegar on the table once. After messing around, add hawk claws and Japanese pepper. Sauce is entwined with rice and it's so delicious! To be honest, the noodles are outpost. I even thought that this dandan rice was my favorite. However, I feel that the remaining sauce was less than the rice. It might have been better to adjust the amount of rice to put in.
Finally, I mixed the hot spring eggs that I had put up with. Oh, I prefer to mix it up. Now let's make regular rice (?) And mix the eggs from the beginning. With that in mind, I finished eating regular rice and half-rice in no time. The numbness of the pepper that remained for a while was a comfortable dish. This is going to be a popular store in Tokyo!
By the way, it seems that each noodle has its own way of eating, such as mixing plenty of hawk claws with the noodles or adding rice while leaving the noodles. It seems worthwhile to capture.
The store is located at 2-10-5 Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Business hours are from 11:00 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00, closed on Mondays. It was a taste I wanted to eat after drinking, so I personally hope that it will extend the business hours.
