Belgium is a "French fries kingdom" with a population of about 11.2 million and 5,500 specialty stores in Fritten. Belgium's Fritten was registered as an intangible cultural heritage by the Flanders government in January 2014, and will be applied for as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 2015.

Pommeke offers a unique Fritten made by a Belgian chef using carefully selected Belgian potatoes. The variety "Bintje", which is said to be "most suitable for french fries" in terms of density and dryness, is cut to a thickness of 12 mm square and "fried twice" to give it a crispy outside and a chewy texture inside. It seems that it has been done.

The hot, freshly fried fritten is crispy and fragrant, and the inside has a smooth texture. The potatoes are tightly packed and have a rich texture that makes them delicious. Even in the M size, it is a voluminous feeling that women can fully satisfy. It may be okay to share it with two people.

Of the five dips, the one I especially liked was the " samurai ." The pink sauce, which is a blend of various "Asian spices" in mayonnaise, is followed by a rich and spicy spiciness. The mysterious spiciness of Japanese-style ethnicity is attractive.

● Side dishes and Belgian beer are also available

In addition to Fritten, the restaurant's menu includes three types of side dishes devised by the chef.

"Pommeke Carbonade" (550 yen) is Belgium's most popular local dish, which is made by combining beef shoulder meat with onions, carrots, and kidney beans and simmering in beer for a long time. Belgian beer "Tongerero Brown" is used to create a deep taste.

"Pommeke Vol au Van" (550 yen) is a traditional dish that combines chicken and homemade meatballs in a rich white cream sauce. Mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms are added to create a "Japanese style" finish.

"Pommeke Meatball Tomato" (450 yen) is a classic Belgian home-cooked dish that combines meatballs with tomato sauce. The onions are mixed with 100% pork meatballs and simmered in tomato sauce.
