Many would have longed for the "Hyakumi Beans" that appeared in Harry Potter and the "Taste-changing chewing gum" that Willy Wonka invented at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I wanted to eat that magical candy someday.

A mysterious sweet that seems to be the first step towards such a dream sweet was developed by a Spanish physicist. It's an ice cream that changes color every time you lick it. The US media The Blaze reports.


According to the media, the flavor of ice cream is "Tutti-Frutti". It is said that candied fruits are chopped together.

It is purple at first, but gradually turns pink as it is licked. The appearance is mysterious, like the gradation of the sky at dusk.


According to developer Manuel Linares, the ice cream is made entirely from "natural ingredients" and changes color depending on the temperature and the acid in the human mouth. It doesn't seem that any special chemicals are used.

He is aiming to obtain a patent right, and although detailed recipes have not been released, it is only revealed that "foreign fruits" are used in some processes.


Ice is currently sold only at IceXperience, a shop run by Linares. It looks like we'll have to wait a while before we can taste it in Japan (?).
