Speaking of Kiyoken, "shumai"

The shumai bun introduced this time is a bite-sized Chinese bun wrapped with shumai ingredients (without shumai skin). The price is 510 yen (tax included) for 10 pieces.

Do you know "shumai bun"?

It is a rare product and is available at some stores mainly around Yokohama Station. The number of arrivals is small in Tokyo and other prefectures, and even dealers sell out quickly. However, if you ask in advance, you can order it at any store (about 2 to 3 days at a store in Tokyo).

The package is a red paper cup with an illustration of Kiyoken's original character "Hyo-chan". Expiration date is the same day.

The size is one size larger than the shumai and taller. There is a branding iron of "Hyo-chan" on the top. Five types of branding irons could be confirmed.

The tightly packed fillings loosen in the mouth, overflowing with the umami of pork and the sweetness of onions. Accented with green peas with a chewy texture.

The soft, chewy and slightly sweet Chinese bun dough has a full-fledged taste with a fermented flavor. It gently wraps the flavor of the ingredients.

You don't have to soak it in soy sauce, just pick it up with your fingers and eat it. It's delicious as it is without warming, so it's perfect not only for everyday snacks but also for train trips. If you are a fan of shumai, please give it a try.
