Mr. FARMER is a vegetable cafe that is very popular when you can eat plenty of vegetables. The second store "Shinjuku Mylord" (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) will open on April 15th.

The store will be open for the first time at dinner time. It is said that a dinner-only menu that goes well with organic wine will be offered. At the preview, I tried it first!

■ What is Mr. FARMER?

Mr.FARMER is a "vegetable cafe" owned and chefed by "field evangelist" Akira Watanabe. Salads, breads, and cold pressed juices made with plenty of fresh vegetables sent directly from contract farmers are popular shops. It opened in Omotesando, Tokyo in November 2014.

The most popular is "FARMER'S Cobb Salad" (single item 1,250 yen, tax not included, same below). The bowl is filled with various ingredients. Another popular menu item is "Field Nice Focaccia" (990 yen per item). This is an open sandwich with Bagna cauda.

No matter what menu you look at, there are plenty of vegetables. In addition, there is also a "vegan menu" that does not use any animal products, a gluten-free menu, and a high-protein, low-calorie "athlete menu," which is attracting attention mainly from health-conscious women. It has been featured in various media, and there may be a line on weekends.

■ A lot of green

The MR.FARMER Shinjuku Milord store will open on "Mosaic Street," which connects the south and west exits of JR Shinjuku Station. On the right is the cold pressed juice sales booth. You can enter the store through the door on your left.

■ Check the menu by time zone!

There are three types of menus at the restaurant: morning menu (9:00 to 11:00), dinner menu (last order from 17:00 to 22:00), and regular menu that can be ordered at all times.

Alcoholic drinks are a lineup centered on organic wine. There are various types of beer, "Heartland", "Yona Yona Ale" and "Coed Beer". In addition, original lemonade is available and can be ordered at all times.

A set of several types of open sandwiches, salads, scones with dietary fiber left over after squeezing cold pressed juice, and drinks (coffee or Earl Gray tea or espresso) (starting at 490 yen). You can change to a latte for an additional 50 yen.

● Dinner menu

The dinner menu is limited to Shinjuku. It is lined up in addition to the regular menu. I tasted the following menu.

・ "Gradient stick tuna dip of farm vegetables" (1,090 yen)
A dish of the shop Ichioshi, where the fresh vegetables that arrived on that day are arranged in a gradation. After all, it looks beautiful! And the dip sauce is exquisitely delicious. It goes well with any vegetable.

・ "Mr. Asaoka's colorful tomato and cashew sour cream vegan caprese" (690 yen)
A vegan menu with zero animal foods, with sour cream made from cashew nuts instead of mozzarella cheese. It's sour, so it's great for chopsticks.

▲ Caprese-style menu that can be eaten even at "vegan"

・ "Herbal roast chicken [1/2] with quinoa table salad" (1,690 yen)
Of the dinner menu, only this one can be eaten in Omotesando, but it is a dish that you definitely want to enjoy with wine. Chicken with rosemary flavor, crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside! It seems that Mr. FARMAR is making taboret (usually a side dish that is often made with the world's smallest pasta "couscous") with quinoa.

In addition, there are plenty of dishes that go well with wine, such as a platter of domestic charcuterie (processed meat snacks, such as prosciutto and pate de campagne) and a platter of cheese. Except for roast chicken, I ordered almost all vegetables, but I was full.

Supper is also very satisfying with plenty of vegetables! It's a vegetable cafe that makes you want to go when the vegetable switch is turned on. Of course, it's also convenient to be able to To go cold pressed juice quickly!
