Carl's Jr. is popular for its burgers with 100% Angus beef patties and "real" shakes. The order is at the counter, but the products made after receiving the order are delivered to the table. It started with one hot dog cart in 1941 and is now deployed in more than 30 countries around the world (as of December 2015). It will be the first re-landing in about 20 years in Japan.

The trademark is an icon with a star motif. Also, in the United States, unique commercials are often talked about, and it is said that they are also called "sexy burgers".
