At McDonald's, a new product "BLT Mozzarella & Basil" (single item 499 yen / tax included) was released on July 9th. It is said to be a "perfect for summer" product that combines the classic sandwich "BLT (bacon + lettuce + tomato)" with the salad "Caprese" made from tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese.


The wrapping paper is "vertical". When I opened it, I found a bigger "sandwich" than I expected. It's often disappointing because it's less voluminous than a product photo, but it's a valuable experience that's bigger than expected and surprising. The fluffy feeling of the buns is also maintained to some extent.


Turn over the top buns and you'll see two large sliced tomatoes. Behind the buns, you can see a white mass that seems to be mozzarella sauce and a green one that seems to be basil sauce.


Furthermore, when I avoided the tomatoes sideways and turned the lettuce, I was able to confirm that two bacon pieces were sandwiched. It's small, but it's grilled well.


By the way, it is very rare for Mac to use tomatoes. Among the menus currently on sale, only "Quarter Pounder Habanero Tomato" and "Chicken Phileo Habanero Tomato", which were also released on July 9th.

Now, re-sandwich the disassembled material and bite it. When you chew lettuce with a crispy texture, crispy tomatoes (it seems to have been young ...), and crispy bacon, the taste that spreads in your mouth is exactly the BLT “sandwich” .

The mozzarella sauce in the caprese part is soft like cream cheese and melts quickly. The aftertaste also felt like butter. It goes well with basil sauce.

Thanks to these two sauces, it is refreshing and easy to eat. It may be good when you want to avoid the oiliness and meatiness of beef patties and chicken patties. In the first place, why don't you go to Mac at that time?

While eating, I was always thinking. "What is a hamburger?" I think the product looks better at sandwich stores than at McDonald's. It's not like a McDonald's in a good or bad way, but it was a simple and delicious product.


Although it is large, it is mainly lettuce and tomato, so there is not much volume. If you're looking for a tight fit, you'll want a quarter pounder that you can eat at the same price.
