The "2nd Defender Curry Number 1 Grand Prix in Yokosuka," an event where visitors can taste real "Navy Curry" made on a Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer, will be held on April 19 at the Yokosuka District General Headquarters of the Maritime Self-Defense Force.


The event is organized by the Curry Town Yokosuka Promotion Committee. On the day of the event, 15 destroyers will gather at the venue and 15 kinds of curry made on board will be served.

A plate of four kinds of curry can be enjoyed for 500 yen. Participants vote for their favorite curry, and the "number one" will be decided in the end.

In addition, a booth selling "Yokosuka Navy Curry," "Yokosuka Navy Curry Bread," and the popular "Tamayura Curry" will be set up in Verney Park adjacent to the Yokosuka Regional Superintendent's Office.

The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will end when all the curry is gone. Some of the vessels will be open to the public on the day of the event.
