● What kind of place is Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam?

Ho Chi Minh is the name of a city you often hear, but it is not actually the capital (Vietnam's capital is Hanoi). Ho Chi Minh, a city in southern Vietnam named after a revolutionary and first president, an adult, seems to have been named "Saigon" in the past.


We landed at the airport in Ho Chi Minh City in late March. Due to the dry season, it was clear and sunny, and the temperature was 32 to 3 degrees Celsius, which was a very sunny summer (well, Ho Chi Minh is "summer" all year round ...).


Why girls go to Vietnam. It's cheap and delicious rice and shopping! Vietnam knows that ... and there are many Japanese-speaking staff at general stores and restaurants in the city.


The purpose of our trip this time is none other than "finding delicious food in Ho Chi Minh". Now, let's introduce 5 things that the food staff actually found by eating around, which you should definitely eat when you go to Ho Chi Minh City.

● 1, of course, "Pho" is indispensable

Speaking of Vietnam's representative dish, "pho" is probably the first name to be mentioned. It is a dish in which noodles made from rice are combined with a light soup and served with meat and plenty of vegetables (herbs, etc.).


There are many restaurants in the city where you can eat pho, but the best one is the cafeteria called "pho 24". It's a famous restaurant that can be found in guidebooks, and it offers dishes that are "cheap, delicious, and full of volume".

This time I ordered chicken pho. Rice noodles are mixed with chicken soup stock, and ingredients such as chicken and scallions are placed on top.

You can freely top and eat bean sprouts, chili peppers, and herbs that are brought in a separate plate. This is, well, exquisite! !!


Herbs have a strong scent and are unique, so people who are not good at it should not enter. However, if you want to taste the authentic pho, please try it with plenty of herbs. Oh, I'm in Vietnam now ... It's a taste that I can feel again.

● 2, this is also a royal road! "Vietnamese coffee"

If you get tired of walking around the city, take a break at the cafe. How about "Vietnamese coffee", a drink unique to Vietnam that combines coffee with condensed milk?


As expected, I didn't feel like walking around under the scorching sun and drinking hot coffee, so I ordered iced coffee this time. And this is Unmai again.


Condensed milk adds mellowness to the strong coffee brewed. The balance between fragrant bitterness and sweetness is just right. It coolly moisturizes your throat and soaks into your tired body.

By the way, I couldn't find the Vietnamese egg coffee that I introduced in the previous meal.

● 3, "Bomb Ice", a store that is sure to appear in guidebooks

If you want to stop by for a snack time, you should stop by Bakudan Ice, a popular ice cream shop that often appears in guidebooks and Vietnam tourism websites. Here you can enjoy ice cream made with various fruits.


I ordered an "ice ark" assortment menu. Vanilla, strawberries, mung beans, and taro ice cream are on board a small boat. It's rich, but the sweetness isn't persistent and it's delicious. Taro ice cream has a slightly unique flavor, but I like it because it has a natural taste, or a far-reaching taste of the earth.



Suddenly, something like a pie cake was brought in, even though I hadn't asked for it. What is this ...?


Maybe it's a service from that (good-looking) clerk to us. Or maybe there is a piece of paper with a handsome phone number inside, just like a fortune cookie.


Then, if you don't eat and check it, the woman will be sick. When I split it in half while pounding ...


What came out was not a fortune (phone number), but a fluffy and juicy "An". I'm disappointed! !! !! ... But the crispy puff pastry and the meaty dumpling-style bean paste were the best match and very delicious. And this is not a service, it was a recommended product because if you want to eat it, eat it and put it on a slip. Death Yone!

● 4, "Vine Me", a super-dreadnought that is cheap but delicious

If you're a little hungry, the Vietnamese sandwich "Vine Me" is recommended. A lot of ham and vegetables are sandwiched in hard French bread.


It is often referred to as Vietnam's B-grade gourmet, but the balance of meat and vegetables, the texture, and the golden ratio of umami and spiciness are calculated so precisely that it is a waste to call it "B-grade". It's so delicious that you can't say anything about it the moment you bite it. I definitely want you to eat this.



I think Vine Me is delicious no matter where you eat it, but for some reason the shop we ate was inside a photo shop.


● 5, fresh and refreshing! "333 beer"

A Vietnamese craft beer that is written as "333" and read as "barber bar". It is fresh and crisp, and you can enjoy a refreshing throat. It's a beer that you can drink when you're thirsty.


During my stay in Vietnam, I also tried a local beer called "Saigon Beer", but 333 beer had a softer carbonation and a refreshing taste. It has a light taste that is just right for drinking in a hot country (by the way, the alcohol content is 5.5%).

I had a toast with this beer throughout my stay, but I never got tired of it because it goes well with any dish.
