Toraya will introduce "Oki no Sora" and "Doyo Mochi" as recommended summer sweets.

Okinosora

Okinosora" will be on sale at fresh confectionery stores from July 15 to 18. Each 50g (1.76oz) piece is priced at 572 yen (tax included).

The bottom layer of green amber jelly, the middle layer of blue amber jelly, and the top layer of domyoji jelly with lemon are layered on top of each other. The design depicts a scene of the sparkling sea and white clouds, evoking a summer scene spreading out to sea. The cool amber jelly and lemon-daumyoji-jikan are said to offer a refreshing taste. The date of the sea day in 2022 is July 18.

Doyoumochi

Doyomochi" can be ordered at fresh confectionery stores and some stores from July 18 to 20. The price is 324 yen per piece.

Doyomochi is made in accordance with the custom of eating rice cakes with sugar and azuki beans to avoid the heat during the first day of summer. At Toraya, the mochi is wrapped in red bean paste. It is available in brown sugar red bean paste and, only in the Kyoto area, in akogura red bean paste. In 2022, the first day of summer will be July 20, and the first day of the ox season will be July 23.
