Hotchpotch" with brown sugar and peanut sauce! Just heat it up for a quick and easy frozen meal!

This is a review of frozen hotchpotch purchased at a Gyomu Super. Just heat it up in a toaster oven or a frying pan, and you can easily enjoy the "freshly baked authentic taste of a street food stall.

Hottteok from Gyomu Super

Hotchpotch is a traditional snack popular at street stalls in Korea. It is made by fermenting wheat flour and tapioca starch into a chewy dough, sandwiching brown sugar and peanut sauce, and baking it flat.

The hotchpotch I bought at the Gyomu Super was the frozen type imported directly from Korea. A pack of four (320g (11.29oz)) hotchpotch is priced at 298 yen (excluding tax), and each hotchpotch has 226kcal of energy.

Toaster ovens can be used for 5 minutes after defrosting. In a frying pan, heat the frozen product over low to medium heat for 7 minutes. This time, I used a frying pan and baked two pieces at a time.

How does the hottoku taste?

Freshly baked hotchpotch, the surface of the dough is crispy like a pie. The inside is chunky and chewy.

The sauce is more of a paste than a liquid, so it won't overflow when you cut it. The rich sweetness of the brown sugar and the aroma of the peanuts is an irresistible combination! It also goes well with the slightly sweet dough.

This is a convenient product that allows you to enjoy foreign flavors easily as an everyday snack. In addition to this brown sugar and peanut product, there is also a "cheese hotchpotch" available, so please check it out.
