Frozen

persimmon

Ingredients

1 persimmon (soft and ripe) to as many as you like

Directions

Wash persimmon in cold water and wrap in plastic wrap with the skin.

Freeze overnight.

Remove the plastic wrap and cut off the stem.

Simply eat it as is with a spoon!

How do frozen persimmons taste?

Yum~! So delicious! It melts softly on your tongue, despite the icy smoothness of the ice. The texture and mouth feel is just in between that of a soft persimmon and a crunchy sorbet. Of course, it is perfectly ripe, so there is no question of its sweetness!

If it is hardened to a crisp, I recommend taking it out of the freezer and letting it sit at room temperature for a bit before eating. It is so delicious that you may want to go to the trouble of overripening persimmons, so please give it a try when they are in season!
