"Dairy-free" products that have become popular recently. One of them is "soy milk yogurt".

The other day, I found Pokka Sapporo's "Soibio Soymilk Yogurt" and Fujicco's "Soybean Yogurt". I ate the two and compared them.

◆ Soybio soymilk yogurt

A vegetable yogurt made by fermenting soymilk made by the "deliciousness carefully squeezed method" with four types of live lactic acid bacteria. Fermenting with lactic acid bacteria seems to increase the amount of aglycone-type isoflavones that are easily absorbed. The estimated price is 250 yen (excluding tax) with 400g (14.11oz).




The sour scent the moment you open the lid, the appearance and mouthfeel are similar to milk yogurt. However, the taste is soy milk, and the mellow richness spreads. Recommended for those who don't like the tsundere of ordinary plain yogurt because it doesn't have much acidity. It is sugar-free, but it has a slight sweetness and is delicious without any sprinkling.


◆ Yogurt made from soybeans

A vegetable yogurt made by crushing carefully selected soybeans. The nutrients from okara, which are removed from soymilk, are also included as they are, and the flavor of soybeans is fully extracted (thin skin has been removed). The estimated price is 258 yen (excluding tax) with 400g (14.11oz).



I don't feel the smell of soybeans at all, and only the mild taste is fully utilized. To be honest, I don't feel a big difference in taste from "Soibio Soymilk Yogurt", but the mouthfeel is smoother than this one. It's like making silken tofu into a thick cream. If you stir it about 10 times and then eat it, you can fully enjoy its unique taste.



◆ Arrangement

The mellow and smooth taste goes well with various ingredients and seasonings. Recommended toppings are kinako and black honey. By adding fragrance and rich sweetness, it transforms into a splendid dessert.


If you sprinkle soy sauce on it, you can use it as a side dish. When you put dried plums on it, the refreshing acidity tightens the taste.


In addition, it is recommended to mix it with avocado wasabi soy sauce or amazake. It can be used like tofu or soy milk, so the arrangement is endless.
