Toraya Seasonal Yokan "Shin Sarashina

Sarashina is the name of a place in the northern part of Shinano Province (present-day Nagano Prefecture), and is often mentioned in poems along with the beauty of the moon over the mountains. It is available from early September to late October. All Toraya stores (except some stores at Haneda and Narita airports) will carry the product, priced at 1,944 yen for the medium size and 3,888 yen for the bamboo-skin size (tax included, same below).

Autumn Package Small Yokan

Ogura Yokan "Night Plum", Brown Sugar Yokan "Omokage", and Matcha Yokan "Shinryo" are now available in an autumn package. The seasonal design depicts the waxing and waning of the moon and the changing colors of the mountains. The easily portable size allows you to eat it without getting your hands dirty, and is recommended as a companion for an autumn stroll. The product will be on sale from September 1 to the end of October. Available at all Toraya stores (except some stores at Haneda Airport and Narita Airport). The price is 292 yen each.

Zangetsu" baked confectionary with ginger

Toraya Baked cake with ginger "Zangetsu

This confectionary represents the "zangetsu," the moon that lingers faintly in the sky at dawn. The design of the half-moon shape of the dough, with the surface of the dough coated with honey, reminds one of the "zangetsu" with a light cloud over it. The hard crust and ginger flavor are the distinguishing characteristics of this confection. This product is sold all year round. Available at all Toraya stores (except some stores at Haneda Airport and Narita Airport). The price is 346 yen per piece.

An paste

Toraya "An paste

Toraya's An Paste, with its smooth red bean paste, is a dish that goes well with the dumplings eaten at moon viewing. It can be served with dango or shiratama (white rice balls) to enjoy "otsukimi dango" (moon-viewing dumplings). This product is sold all year round. Available at all Toraya stores (except some stores). The price is 972 yen.
