"Shaved

Ice" Toraya's cafe "Toraya Karyo" stores have been selling "shaved ice" sequentially since May 1. The stores are: Akasaka Store, Tokyo Midtown Store, Imperial Hotel Store, Shinjuku Isetan Store, Yokohama Sogo Store, Gotemba Store, Kyoto Ichijo Store, Kyoto Shijo Nanza Store, and TORAYA TOKYO (in Tokyo Station Hotel). Store-specific shaved ice will also be available.

Toraya Karyo Shaved Ice "Uji Kintoki

The most popular shaved ice is made with a layer of ice over a layer of Ogura-an (sweet bean paste) and topped with a rich green tea honey made from Uji green tea and Wasanbon sugar. It is available from May 1 to September 30. Sold at all Toraya Karyo stores. Priced at 1,650 yen (tax included), small size 1,320 yen. Prices differ at the Imperial Hotel and Toraya Tokyo (1,760 yen, small size 1,430 yen); Toraya Tokyo sells only the small size.

Toraya Karyo Akasaka Limited Shaved Ice "Ice Anzu

Shaved ice with plenty of apricot puree and amaretto (apricot liqueur) syrup. It has a sweet and sour flavor perfect for the hot season. It will be on sale from July 1 to August 31. Price: 1,760 yen, small size 1,430 yen.

Toraya Karyo Tokyo Midtown Limited Shaved Ice "Hyuganatsu and Onshu Mikan Ice" (September only)

Shaved ice topped with a blend of Hyuganatsu and Onshu mandarin orange honey and served with mikan agar. The shaved ice has a refreshing taste with the white bean paste under the ice. It will be on sale from September 1 to September 30. The price is 1,430 yen (small size only).

Shaved ice "Mikuriya Sencha Kintoki" only at Toraya Karyo Gotemba Store (August only)

Shaved ice made with Mikuriya Sencha tea produced in the Gotemba area. The shaved ice is topped with Mikuriya Sencha molasses and served with kuzu (kudzu) Sencha mizuyokan (sweetened water yokan). Underneath the ice, Sencha red bean paste and Ogura red bean paste are hidden. It will be on sale from August 1 to August 31. The price is 1,760 yen.

Toraya Karyo Kyoto Limited Shaved Ice "Green Yuzu Ice

Shaved ice topped with aromatic green yuzu paste with grated peel. The refreshing sourness and bitterness of the green yuzu is harmonized with the refined sweetness of the white bean paste. It will be on sale from July 1 to August 31. The Kyoto Ichijo store and Kyoto Shijo Minamiza store are the stores (Karyo) that carry it. The price is 1,430 yen (small size only).
