MUJI Confectionery Series that Utilizes Plant Ingredients

MUJI Confectionery Series Using Vegetable In

gredients MUJI will launch a series of "confectionery using vegetable ingredients" that do not contain eggs, milk, or other animal ingredients at MUJI stores nationwide and online on April 5, 2012 (Wednesday).

MUJI

places importance on developing food products that make the most of the flavors of their ingredients. The "Confectionery Making the Most of Vegetable Ingredients" series was developed to make it easy to incorporate vegetable, fruit, grain, and other plant ingredients into daily diets.

In order to maximize the taste of plant ingredients, no eggs, milk, or other animal ingredients are used. While eggs, butter, and other dairy products are generally used in Western confectioneries to add richness, this series uses nut oils and other fats, as well as a combination of fruits to deepen the flavor.

This year's lineup includes four different products using ingredients with different flavors and textures. The packages are labeled with "egg" and "milk" free icons to make it easier for customers to choose the right product for them at the store.

Some products contain egg and dairy ingredients and are manufactured in common facilities, and are not allergy-friendly confections.
