4-pack Black Sesame Cream Daifuku

A seasonal product in the frozen Japanese confectionery series. The soft rice cake is filled with black sesame paste and whipped cream to create a dessert-like Daifuku. The addition of black sesame bean paste, which has the richness and aroma of black sesame, and whipped cream, which has a milky flavor and gentle sweetness, makes Daifuku a Western-style dessert in spite of being Daifuku.

The mochi rice used is made from Saga Prefecture's hiyokumochi glutinous rice, which is known for its resistance to hardening and its fine texture and stickiness. By pounding the steamed rice and kneading it afterwards, the mochi has a firmness, elasticity, and rich rice aroma. The number of times the rice is pounded has been increased by 200% (according to the company's research), resulting in a smooth dough with less roughness that matches the black sesame bean paste and whipped cream.

The black sesame bean paste is made from a blend of two types of black sesame with different characteristics. The texture is smooth and you can feel the aroma and richness of the black sesame. The amount of sugar in the red bean paste is reduced and cooked at a low sugar level, resulting in a refreshing sweetness that is only possible in a frozen food.

The whipped cream is blended with Hokkaido cream for a natural milk flavor. The clean and refreshing flavor with a moderate sweetness is a perfect match for Daifuku.

For natural defrosting, cover with plastic wrap and leave at room temperature for about 2 hours. Since the Daifuku is defrosted thoroughly, you can enjoy the stretchy mochi, whipped cream and sweet bean paste, and the savory flavor of black sesame most of all.

For quick defrosting, heat in a microwave oven (500/600W) for 10 seconds without plastic wrap. Immediately after microwaving, there is a temperature difference between the surface and the center, so the outside is soft, but the center is still ice cream. By allowing it to cool for 10 to 15 minutes, the temperature difference between the outside and inside will decrease.

When eaten immediately after microwaving, it is like a cool ice cream. The mochi is soft but elastic, and the sweetness of the whipped cream and black sesame bean paste can be felt more easily.
