Braised Chicken Wings with Ume Plum
Ingredients (for 2 persons)
8 chicken wings1 long green onion
2 green peppers
2 dried plums
1/2 tbsp olive oil
1.5 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vinegar and mirin
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water
Braised Chicken Wings with Ume Plum Sauce Directions
Cut green onions into 3-4 cm wide diagonal slices. Cut green pepper into thin strips about 1 to 2 cm in length.Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat, place the chicken wings on the pan and brown them all over while rolling them around.
Add the pickled plums, soy sauce, vinegar, mirin, sugar, and water, and mix briefly.
Cover and simmer over low to medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Add green onions and green pepper and simmer for about 5 minutes more. Halfway through cooking, take off the lid and turn the dish upside down.
