HONMIDO

HONMIDO is a new brand by Kasho Sanzen, known for its famous Sendai confections "Haginotsuki". It originated in Ginza, Tokyo, and has a store in Ginza Six.

Transcending the genres of Japanese and Western confectionery, HONMIDO sells unique Japanese sweets loved by people all over the world. From the attractive lineup, we purchased a "HONJIDO Sando", priced at 680 yen (tax included) for a package of 4 pieces.

Honjindo Sando

Honjitsu-do Sando" is a confectionary consisting of two sheets of langue de chat sandwiched between two layers of freshly whipped egg whites. It is available in two varieties: kinako (soybean flour) and matcha (powdered green tea). It comes in a package with a leaf-like design.



Cookies and chocolates are often combined, but this may be the first time you've ever had one sandwiched with fresh snow. When you bite into the thin langue de chat, it cracks open and is immediately replaced by the light snowflake. The light snowflake is crispy for a moment and then melts in your mouth. This delicate texture is addictive!


Deep-roasted, fragrant kinako (soybean flour) and matcha (powdered green tea) are fragrant and have a hint of bitterness. Both have a slight sweetness and a refined aftertaste. Both the taste and texture of this light confectionery are unmistakable.


In addition to the Honshindo sandwich, the lineup includes "Mitarashi Pancake," a rice milk pudding sandwich filled with Mitarashi sauce, and "Almond Pie" and "Cinnamon Pie," crisply baked with butter folded into the pancake.
