Ham katsu" is a delicious, old-fashioned dish. It's a great accompaniment to beer or highball, but it's a bit of a hassle to make it yourself. What I would like to recommend is to use fried tofu instead of batter to make " deep-fried ham cutlet style"! It's easy to make, but it's really delicious...!
Deep Fried Ham Cutlet Style
Ingredients
Here is what you need to prepare. This is based on Sagamiya's recipe.2 sheets fried tofu
2 slices ham
2 shiso leaves
2 slices cheese
Directions
Pour boiling water over fried tofu to remove oil, and cut in half. Open into a bag.
Cut the ham in half, fold it in two, and place it in the deep fryer.

Also cut the shiso leaves and sliced cheese in half, sandwich them between the ham and plunge them into the fried tofu.

Heat the oil in a frying pan (not to exceed the amount) and cook until browned. You can also close the mouth of the bag with a toothpick and bake.

Serve in a bowl and you're done!

How does it taste?
It's...yummy...! The crispy fried bean curd is juicy, and with just the right amount of chewiness, it's just like meat! The crispy fried bean curd is juicy, and with just the right amount of chewiness, it's just like meat! The refreshing taste of the shiso leaves and ham, and the mild richness of the cheese that surrounds it. It's the perfect accompaniment to drinks!

It's really good, so just think you've been duped and try it! It's easy to make because all you have to do is fill it with ingredients and bake it, and it can be done in 10 minutes when you think of it. You can season it as you like with Chuno sauce, black pepper, or shichimi. Personally, I recommend eating it as it is, because the ham and cheese have a nice salty flavor!
